Bandera Art Gallery - Details
NOTE: All details are still being worked and are subject to change, suggestions are strongly encouraged.
Space: Former location of Artifacts located on Main Street about one block northwest of the courthouse and next to the washateria. Approximately 4200 sq ft of heated/cooled space. Large open area with two small offices, two restrooms, a small warehouse (approx 400 sq ft), fenced yard at rear of building and ample parking.
Cost: Studio space $1/sq ft monthly, warehouse space negotiable, hanging space - we need artists to commit to a monthly rental wall space. Some commision only space may be available (cost to be negotiated). Possible options for wall space - small fee in $15-$30/month for a "small" space to much larger spaces. Everyone will be required to pay a 5% commision that will be used to advertise the gallery provide occasional entertainment for members and perspective customers.
Current Artwork: Following artists have made a level of committment:
Watercolor
Digital fine art & photography
Small group of primarily oil painters
Pastels
Western hand carvings and leatherwork
Artwork/Artists needed:
Jewelry
Sculpture of all types
Pottery
Woodwork
Metalwork
Other...
Timeline: We need a several more artists to commit at the $100+ level before the Gallery can open for business. We are hoping to accomplish this by May, 2010.

What we need:
Hard skillsets of current potential members needed to get started:
Framing
Electrical
Plumbing
Computer
We should be able to assist with building display cases, shelves, etc.
Some ideas/possibilities:
1. Create an artist club with membership dues to support the gallery. Membership to include use of equipment, negotiated discounts, education, possible wall space, etc.
2. We plan to hold social events at least monthly to help draw customers and local residents.
