See the Flickr slide show below for processing of ALL PHOTOS taken at the mounted shooting competition at Gary Trichter's Pahaska ranch.  This is only the INITIAL processing of thees pictures for the purpose of getting them up to the website.  The colors, details, contrast, etc. may NOT be REPRESENTTAIVE of what the final product would look like if completely processed.    Also, please NOTE that the pictures have been reduced in size to accomodate the website and will NOT print properly if ordered through Flickr.

If you are interested in a print, pleasecontact
me through this website.     ** Please provide  the file name/number  ** which you can get by clicking on the picture and then click the link to the right of the picture "Open photo in a new window" and the file name will be "Mounted Shooters xxx" where "xxx" is the number I will need to find the file.  I apologize for the awkwardness of this process but it ws easiest/quickest way for me to get the photos on the website for your review/selection.

This was a first for me, mounted shooting competition in Bandera, Texas.  I was lucky enough to receive an invitation to photograph the competition held at Gary Trichter's ranch just north of Bandera.  This is one of the fastest growing equestrian sports.

Mounted shooting is a sport that combines elements of old-time Wild West Show exhibition, along with the elements of barrel racing, pole bending, reining, and many other equestrian skills; all done while using two .45 caliber single action revolvers, loaded with 5 rounds each of black powder blanks to shoot ten balloon targets set in a special random pattern or Old West type scenario called a 'stage'.

If you haven't seen this sport I suggest you get out there and experience one, you will thoroughly enjoy yourself!  If you were a participant in this competition and are interested in acquiring a print, please contact me through this website.  Please note this is an "initial" processing of the photos, additional work to color balance, highlight certain features, etc. would probably be needed.

I hope you enjoy the pictures...
