Who started this?

Mark Holly and Andi Davenport, both relatively new residents of Bandera, began this venture after a chance meeting at last years Celebrate Bandera event.  Both could not believe that a town with so many talented artisits did not have a gallery to display their talents.

Mark has successfully run a number of small businesses, worked for 20+ years in the corporate world spending the last 15 years in IT management, and for the last 4 years has worked as a freelance photographer.

Bio:

Mark’s interest in photography began in the 1970’s while attending college. As a computer science major, he needed an outlet for artistic expression. After taking a couple photography classes, he found it! Starting with a Canon AE1 as well as a very artistic and talented new wife he began shooting mostly architecture and street scenes in black and white. His creativity then spilled over into the darkroom where he processed his black and white photos and found new ways to raise the creativity bar.

In 2005, after retiring early from the corporate world , Mark chose his second career as a photographer and digital artist. Now using all digital equipment and processes, Mark has created many pieces of photographic and digital art winning numerous awards in the process. Several of his photos have been published and used on various websites.

Mark now shoots primarily for Fine Art specializing in landscape, architecture, nature and street scenes with occasional efforts in portraiture. He prints most of his own work using professional quality Epson printers with Ultrachrome K3 inks and museum quality papers creating artwork that can last for hundreds of years.
